What should a full wieght 88 GXL weigh?

What should a full wieght 88 GXL weigh?

well i went to the track today and weighed my car while i was there, anywho i was just curious to what you guys think the car should wiegh, then after i get a few posts on the subject i will tell you what it weighed.. also i did remove a few items from the car also, and it still upset me to see it wiegh what it did..

I put my 88 SE on a farm scale with a full tank and it said 1980 lbs, just like the door sticker says.

not to sound like a smart *** but i dont think anyone here has seen a full wieght Rx-7 weight 1980lbs..

I believe it should way 2625 lbs according to autotrader's used car research

well anywho the scale said 3025lbs with removed PS, AC, sound deadener, and spare, jack and some other lil bs, and i only weigh 183..

yes.
The only way you could have gotten 1980lbs is if you own a Honda crx.....

the GXL was like 2800lbs for the se/base/sport models it was like 2650-2700 depending on wether there wa a sunroof or a/c/PS

oops, double post...


My 88 GXL with alot of weight reduction now weights 2300 on the dot, with 1/4 gas, and not me.(160lbs) Thats also with some **** inthe car...my goal before end of May is 2250 with gas.

Factory window sticker on the 86-88 GXL w/o leather, w/o ABS, w/o rear seat, w/ manual tranny were right at 2680.

Hey Icemark do you know if that 2680 is with a tank of gas or not? Im not sure how theyd weigh from the factory.

I imagine that weight is the weight as unloaded at the port, since that is where the win sticker is printed.

So maybe 5 gallons

Im sure the 12PSI being forced into the intake makes that extra 100lbs negligable....
