What shoud I do now?
Im getting ready to build my first rx7 Ive messed around with a few of my friends rx7's and built a civic (plz no laughing). But Ive always loved my friend Jessies beautiful black '93 sleeper and wanted a rotary of my own. I'm a poor single father so unfortunately my budget is VERY minimal. Im looking at buying a 2nd gen rx7. I want to purchase a base model because I want to make it as inconspicuous as possible. Anyway, I figured my first step would be to install a new powerplant. I was looking online and found 89-91 turbo engine (factory rebuild) for $2,200 usd. Is this a good price? Or can I easily put a 3rd gen engine/tranny in the car? And can I put a turbo motor in any 89-91 rx7 or does it have to be a turbo model vehicle? What else do I have to purchase to safely complete the swap (ecu, different mounts?)? And also is there any internal engine work that I should have done before the install (i.e. apex seals, bearings, ect..)? Could anyone recommend if a new tranny is nesassary at this point and if so where to get one? Thanks for any input

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
The easiest way to make a sleeper is get a TII and remove the "Turbo II" on the side of the car. No one will ever know .
No. It's apparently a very difficult and expensive swap.
You can put a turbo engine in a non-turbo car, but you'd have to replace a bunch of stuff (sensors, ecu, etc.).

your best bet is to start with a damaged Turbo II model and a clean non turbo car.....swap EVERYTHING from it like I did and then plug and play......ND TROUBLESHOOT FOR PROBLEMS THAT will ARISE....Trust me.....do a search and you will find a list of everything needed for the swap....again ur best bet is a turbo car with body damage.
