what the? s4/5
hi, i know series 5's are supposed to start in 89, but ive been the latest one ive been looking at has all the features of a s5, at least the ones ive checked, the owner claims its stock, and it has the round tail lights and mazda written into the front spoiler and all that sort of crap which is supposed to identify the s5, but its an 88... was there a month in 88 where s4 changed to s5 or is it at end of 88?
the same kinda thing happened when i got my fb (which is now in a junkyard somewhere after being hit by a truck from behind at 100km/h), it had features of later series when it was the earlier. maybe its the australian models all screwed up or something?? the main thing im pissed off about is i dont know whether the engine is going to be the 180hp version or 200, is there any other ways to tell besides what ive mentioned?

Search, I know the cutoff date has been talked about a few times.
I'd just check out the way the engine bay looks. One of the most noticable features of the S5 is that it has dual TPS sensors on the TB.
Also the AFM is very small, unlike the one in the S4 where its huge.
