Exclamation what are the risk of the drive shaft??

What are the risk of taking out the drive shaft? The reason I ask is because I need to take it off because is on the way and I need to replace the first part of the hand brake cable. I know how to take it off is just the four nuts at the diff. and its slides out right? but my question is it do i just put it back like I removed it because I heard about it and not be balanced and it will cause some shaking or something??

You're supposed to phase (mark) driveshafts when you remove them. So it needs to be in the same position as it was installed and the nuts need to go into the bolts that they were previously on. Basically take some white out and mark everything before you remove it.

Now...I've taken my DS off like 4 times and have never marked anything and have never had problems, nor do I know anyone that has had any vibrations or damaged caused by a DS out of balance. I personally wouldn't worry about it. In some American cars it can be a big deal but no one really does it on FCs.

Have a Rag handy,as the rear of the tranny will leak when you pull the Driveshaft out.Get a Plastic Grocery Bag with some Rags in it.when you Pull the Driveshaft out,put the Bag and rags on the Back of the Trans and tie it somehow(bungie Cord works good) to Prevent it from falling off,and the fluid from spilling onto the ground.Floor,Whereever..Usually you won't lose a lot of fluid,But at the Same time While you are Under there, you may as well check the Trans Fluid.Maybe the Diff Fluid too.
