Are you talking about the plastic cover from the inside of the car? The one that cover's the screws? Well for me, I pry at it very slowly. I'm probably doin it wrong, but I haven't broke them yet?!!

yOu have to go at this plastic piece with "kid gloves' as it is Subseptable to breaking(age of the thing!)..Once you get it off there are Three Phillips screws you can Plainly see that hold the mirror to the Door itself.Give it a little Nudge and it will break free from the side of the door.IF the Mirrors Are Electric, then you pull the Wire Up a bit,and you will see the Connector.Disconnect that and You have the Mirror In your hands, and can Replace it...Oh,you do not have to Take the door panel off to do this either.Good luck.

good luck with the plastic black triangles, just like the above posts, they break way easy, try a large flat head and slowly pry around the edges. Thats the only way I have been able to do it and I have still broken my fair share of the triangles. Good luck!

I'd recommend using a putty knife, maybe 1.5" wide. You pry gently from the longest side of the triangle (the front edge) in a direction away from the door, in other words, not parallel to the door. Don't attempt to pry from the vertical edge near the glass or you'll probably break the tabs.

get the side closest to the window loose first, since it has the little clips that attach to your door, then you can try prying it off, but try to pry it off from the center because there is a little piece on the triangle that is inside the part on the door, that thing is just so fudgy and wont budge..I took mine off with the door panels off though, never tried it with the panels on..
good luck

Interesting, CantScreamOverYou... your recommendation is exactly the opposite of what I've always done to remove my triangle mirror garnishes. I tried it your way just now, and you're right. It works much better than my way.

In fact, I'd recommend prying off the edge by the window glass (with window down, of course) using only your fingers, flexing the triangle cover just a little and it seems to come off quite easily. Thanks for the tip!

chain it to the back of a truck and have them hit the gas. BAM! comes right off.

You will have to take off the door panel if you mirrors are electric to remove the connector
