what plug is this?

what plug is this and also this wire had another wire that was running to the o2 sensor what would that wire be for? and would it cause the car to die? the wire going to the o2 sensor in this pic is just drawn in because the wire is broken off right now until it gets spliced back in. Anyways here it is.

It's for the BAC valve. The fact that it's plugged into the BAC valve should've been your clue.

Dare I say what the *other* wire that is going to the o2 sensor is used for???? Naaaaaahhhhh. I think you figured that out already. If not....the clue lies in the post just above this one, and the answer is NOT the bac valve for this particular wire.

By the way, if the o2 sensor is not connected up the car will start just fine. It's not used during startup or idle.

Oh. I guess you meant what is the BAC used for??? It's for helping maintain the idle of the car. On startup though...it goes to its maximum duty cycle to let a touch more air in downstream of the throttle plates. It does several other things. Not enough time to list them right now.

Nope, the car will run fine without a O2 sensor. It'll just use a little more gas.

O2 sensor on a RX-7 is only used when the car is cruising along so to speak. If it is not connected when you are just cruising around, then the ECU won't be able to adjust the fuel mixture to the most satisfactory air fuel ratio, sooooooo, you'l use a touch more gas plus polute a touch more also. But at startup or idle the ECU does not even glance at the 02 sensor.

The most satisfactory solution for you in the short run, is to make what is called a fuel cut switch. A switch that you can flip to turn the fuel pump off, and then start/unflood the car without adding additional fuel while doing so. Then once started you flip the fuel pump back on.

After you make the switch .....then you have some elbow room/time to find or fix the flooding problem.

I said a little more gas.

The O2 sensor is not your problem, so look elsewhere. Are you sure it's actually flooded?

****it turned off and now it won't run? Wierd*****

We need more detail. You were tooling along at 70 mph and the car just died and won't start now? Orrrrrrr .....you got up one morning and the car would not start. Or.....you......?????????????????

The starter turns the engine over but it won't start?? Or you turn the key to start and you just hear a click each time you go to START with the key??????

See what I mean???

I took turbo out last week, I put turbo back in this week with all new gaskets. Sarted car up and was letting it idle. Was idling perfect for about 5 to 10 minutes and the car shut off. now it won't turn on. it spins but no fire I'm guessing because I am getting fuel.

Take just one of the lower plug wires off. Rest it near one of the studs that hold the left strut on. Crank the engine. Did you see a spark of any sort from that wire to the stud????

Well the sparkplug is a deep 13/16ths. But that's not what I wrote. Just take the sparkplug wire off ONE of the lower sparkplugs. Leave the sparkplug in the engine for now. Now put that sparkplug wires end real close to one of the four studs that hold the left strut on the car. Then spin the engine over. You should see a spark.

Make VERY sure you leave the other sparkplug wires connected to their plugs when you do that. If you see even the smallest of sparks leaping out of the end of the sparkplug wire when you crank the engine over....thats good enough. Just let us know what happened.
