NPT, or National Pipe Thread or National Pipe Taper is an old U.S.(?) taper thread standard for joining pipes.  I believe the size (i.e. 3/8" is for use on pipes with I.D. of 3/8".  ALL NPT threads need to have some type of thread sealant on them to seal correctly.

You can try and find a 3/8"NPT to 12mm x 1.25 adapter, but I don't think such a beast exists.

What are you trying to connect?

Some of the Haltech/GM sensors are 3/8"NPT.
Some aftermarket temp sensors are 3/8"NPT also.
The only thing I can figure that's 12mm x 1.25 on an FC is the fuel rail end?

There is NPT and BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread)

They are different, so don't get confused. While the both may be 1/8", the taper and pitch is different. I had to source a 1/8 BSPT to 1/8 NPT adapter to fit my oil pressure gauge.
