Non-turbo, but it doesn't list GXL...
wait, it says it doesn't have AAS or an LSD so it can't be GXL
this is just info I get from running your vin in the Mazda Parts Catalog at work

Also production date of 9/24/1986 if that helps, and no ABS brakes (for insurance reasons, because they'll give you a discount if you have them)
That's all I can get out of it....hope this helps you out!

You can also try giving Mazda Customer Support (1-800-222-5500 )a call. They will be able to tell you what the original configuration of your car was when it shipped, plus other useful info. I ran my VIN number by them a couple of months ago, just to find out some info about my own car.

well if it dosent have a turbo its not a TII and if it has 5 lug wheels its not a base model. That pretty much leaves GTU and GXL most GXLs had the power options and AAS and most GTU were pretty basic manual windows and locks. This is assuming your talking about a S4

A simple way to tell is look at how many lugs your wheels have. if it's 4, its a base; 5, a sport or GXL. Sounds like it's a base you got there, though.

read the printouts in the links above. I'm pretty sure base's had sunroofs. all rx7's had storage bins unless they had seats there instead. tII stock wheels are 15's.

there never was a TII in 86. All TII's have 16" rims.

Not quite.

The 86-87 Sport was a GS on the window sticker on USA models.

Note the upper left hand corner, for the model: RX-7 GS 2P (two passenger)

and a 9/86 model is a 87 model year car, not an 86.

No such thing as a 86 Turbo II and all 2nd gen RX-7 Turbo models came with 16x7 inch wheels.

No, base models and Sports did not come standard with sunroofs. On Sports it was an option.

Please read the options and standard features thread at the top of the section before posting.

ya sorry bout that 86 t2 thing i said it before thinkin bout it but yea. thanks for the pic of the sticker. thats prob what it is then. but as far as a hood goes the hood was replaced by some cheap *** aftermaket cheapy hood so thats a no go on that one. so im guessin it wasnt turbo so carfax is wrong. now i just gotta figure out what exactly did come on the gs....what was an opt and what was standard....u think it came with the 5 lugs or where they put on by one of the past owners? do you think they would put the 16" rims on that car also or was that a past owner thing also? cuz i know he did some work to it. it has tokico blue shocks and sturt bar in the front and the 91 spoiler. i just wanna beable to go into a place and know what im gettin for this car and what it has already. cuz im sure some parts are for one model and not on some others. the one person said it wasnt abs....which im sure i would have figured out sooner or later....if i looked for it and all....haha. but it was good to know it wasnt taken out anyway. i just dont know what to expect from this car after all the changes and been unsure with no positive anwsers from even mazda. thanks for all the help and if you can think of anything else ill be sure glad to hear it. so the gs is a only canada model?
