What is minimum needed for TII conversion?????

I have an NA vert. 88 and plan on swapping in a S4 TII motor I am getting my hands on soon from a wrecked TII. My question is, how much do I have to swap in? I will have the whole car available to me but will be buying the parts ala-cart.

Can I just swap the motor itself?
Can I just swap the motor and trans.?
If I do the motor and trans. what will I need to hook up to my NA rear end?
Is it fact or just popular opinion that the NA rear ends and tranny won't hold up?
I would rather not have to gut two cars, and possibly swap in a problem part from the other car that has not been on the road in a while. BUT I don't want to constantly blow driveline parts all the time.

I don't plan to race the car but want a faster vert......plus look at my car....(in my sig)...if I don't make it a little fast it will be all show with no go.

Yeah, I plan on doing the same with my 87 n/a (once I get some money), but there are a lot of threads on this already, so just search around some.

i am in the process od doin my swap. you have to do if you do the tranny, the driveshaft is a defferent spline (depending on years). it also is nice to swap the diffs as well. I am also swapping the suspension and brakes as well so that way i can have the real TII feel. Luckily for me i have a TII and a base model so i have all the parts ready for swapping. you will also have to swap the guage bezel and ecu. its a tough project but pretty straight forward. good luck and happy rotoring.

That was last week for me....really until my freind said we can make a deal on a motor he just got. I did use search but I got a lot of mixed answers and I wanted to know what was real from opinion from guys who have done it. Even I can comment on something I have not done yet but what real help is that to anyone. If you wanna know how to make custom lights into a CorkSport bumper...then I can give some advice.

This guy has the whole car but only want's certain things from it, I could probably get all the stuff from the car I need. I just was curious if you could JUST do the motor since the tranny is different going to the shaft, etc. and if someone had just done the motor how well the NA drivetrain was holding up.
