What is leaking from my subzero assist resevoir?

First of all, what does this thing do and how does it work? Is it even that important?

Secondly, it cracked open today and it's leaking a blue fluid all over everywhere. Feels filmy. What is it?

How does it work / How is it supposed to work?

What do I do if I take it off? Do I link the hoses, or block both of them off?

It's the sub-zero start assist system. If the oil temp is below 3degF it injects coolant into the manifold during cranking to aid starting.

It's highly unlikely you'll ever need it, so pull it all out and cap the lines.

It's supposed to be filled with 90% Coolant to 10% water should you choose to empty It out and refill It. Mazda agrees that It's absolutely useless thus remove It. I believe their was a TSB on It but need confirmation on that. I personally removed It and blocked off the former subzer start valve.

Well, it looks like someone tried to trace the tubing back from the windshield zerks and accidently found themselves at the the subzerassssssss and chawlked it full of blue gushiness, so I'm definitely taking it out, yes. Thanks for the help.
