Ok my targa top has to be re-done eventually, i'm jsu wondering what people suggest as far as latches go, i was thinking about having fixed pins on the back edge and latches up on the front edge, so you set in the back edge then just lock the fornt two latches and your good to go, but what kind of latches? also waht kinda of seals would be really good? The door seals on my g/f's 2000 celica look really useful . . . lemme know what you guys think, any experience with good latching systems youve seen on verts and what not, lemme know, i wanna find something really simple and light weight/functional, when i fis the roof its going to be done right . . .

I'd just go to some dealerships or something and look at the targa top models they have there. Just not a Lambo dealership. The Gallardo's top isn't safe to go over 100mph with. Stupid Lambo...

i would use the latches that come on jetskis. im sure there pretty cheap. just find some used ones, i showed my jetski to a buddy of mine that builds kit planes, and he said that he was thinking about using those latches for the hatch compartment, there really strong, lightweight. anticorrosive, and lock. there pretty bad ***. i dont know about all but these are on my yamaha.

Ever seen the latches on a Miata top? They are nice and tight and easy to use.

They are, I just can't find a good picture and my buddy who has one is at work right now. go peruse www.miata.net, I'm sure someone has pictures of their interior where you can see the latches.

I asked my Miata friend to take some pics of his latches and email them to me. I'll post them once he does that. Not sure if you are being sarcastic about the link, but if you aren't, you're welcome.
