drivability issues

This is my first time posting on the site so please excuse any stupid moves! Ihave an 87 turboII and it seems to run rough at idle. It also stumbles when you snap the throttle but only for a second then pulls strong. I have added a Racing Beat turbo back exhaust and fuel cut defender. I cannot get any codes or data out of the computer Any help would be cool! thanks!

have you done regular maintenance on the car: spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc...?

if there's no codes i would probably check to see if the TPS is adjusted properly, you can check this by following the procedures in the FSM, there is a link to it in the FAQ thread at the top of this board.

It has new plugs and I have checked the wires but have not replaced the fuel filter. I'll change tommorow. I tested compression and it has 85psi on the rear rotor and 70-75psi on the front. Could slightly lower compression be the problem?

could be, 70ish is rather low and could mean you will need a rebuild soon. did you follow the correct procedures for running the compression test?

be sure you are doing a compression test with a warm motor and WOT

I tested compression with both trailing plugs removed with a warm motor but forgot about WOT! will try again but seriously considering a rebuild.

^ just be easy on it until you can afford the rebuild kit (do it yourself )

I'd check the timing. It can work wonders if it's not set correctly.
