What kind of port work is this?

Curious to see if anybody might happen to know what kind of port work this is or the template that might have been used to form it?

I want to get my engine ported one day but with only running a stock turbo I don't see any point.

Those were already done when I got that core. I'd suspect they were from rx7world or rotorsports, as the car that the core was in came out of spartanburg SC. IT was a flaming heap of ****, too...an 88 SE/base 4 lug with a JDM turbo engine swapped in, NA drivetrain, an NA boost sensor and AFM, hacked wiring and hoses, and an NA hood with a hole cut in it and an autozone plastic scoop as an intercooler duct. Engine was locked up.

So I tore this POS apart expecting a junky jspec core full of rust. When I got down to the block I could tell it was a rebuild and not a jspec. Turns out someone had installed the NA flywheel WAY too tight and smashed the rear bearing which is why it was locked up. Since it never ran in that condition, all the parts were undamaged except the gear/bearing and shaft. So i was able to reuse all the components of that rebuild. It had to be only a couple thousand miles old because everything looked MINT. So I just put it together with replacement parts as needed, and sold it.

You got a GREAT deal on that block for what was in it.

I mean look at that...you got a huge streetport finely polished, almost new rotor housings, and fat casting/reinforced front and rear irons. That's like the best 13bt you could ask for in a street car.

How do you overtighten the nut for the flywheel? And overtighten it enough to screw up the rear bearing? I never thought that with the taper fit of the flywheel, you could drive it in deep enough? Not trying to say anything here Kevin, just want to know!

I had never seen it before, either. But that is what happened. The rear lip of the stat gear/main bearing was crushed inward onto the eshaft and you could see the outline on the inside of the flywheel seat where they had tried to spin it with a breaker bar or something and it ground a circle into the flywheel.
