what kind of numbers could i see with this setup?

i have already searched around for threads on hp numbers and how to get to 300whp and all that but it was not what i was looking for at all. there was just a lot of crap that i don't want to do to my car.

ok now on to business. i am going to get my engine rebuilt. going with s5 irons and internals. but s4 everything else. oh and a s5 turbo. i got a 87 Tii
so it will be easier to make the engine so it pretty much just plugs in and that is it.

i am going to get the engine streetported(maybe) get the intake ported and the exhaust manifold. and i am going to get a manual boost controller(i don't want to buy a comp... or do I??) so that i could get 10-12 psi from the turbo. i don't really want to go for too much boost. im getting a full exhaust for it... i have not decided which yet. i also want to use the stock s5 intercooler. and i plan on getting the car dyno tuned so that i dont have to get a comp for the car.

so? what kind of numbers would such a setup generate? and if you have any suggestions for other things i may need to do different go for it..... this is my first turbo build so i may need some guidance.

you need more fuel to make any numbers at that kind pressure or you will lean out and pop. the stock system can't handle anything above 9.. and as far as fuel and tuning goes i would look into rtek. racing beat makes a really nice turbo-back.

I assume by comp you mean ECU, or EMS.

If your going to boost above stock boost levels, to bad wether you want it or not, your going to need an aftermarket computer. Or you can learn the hard way that you need one.

you won't make 300whp on a stock s5 turbo.

you will need fuel pump/injectors/rom/afc/wideband at the very LEAST in order to run a ported motor at 12psi.

Why do you want numbers? So you can quote them to your friends... Wait until you can dyno it. Noone can predict what you will be making, but with what you have listed 300hp is out of the question.

thanks for all the help guys. Im not really looking to get to any specific number. just building a car to be a track/AutoX/PDX and weekend fun car. i thought the stock injectors would take more than 300hp?? my friend gets a little over 400hp out of his and they are half the size of turbo injectors..... but then again his is an LT1 firebird so i dont know how different they are in that respect.

i really just wanted to know because i have seen so much crap out there about how much HP you can get off of the mods i was already planning to do. i have heard up to 30 hp from porting the intake, 20 from porting exhaust mani, seen about 30 hp from a good exhaust, 8psi more boost would at least give 40 hp but prob more. a good tune i have heard is another 20 hp. so just right there that gives an extra 140HP to the car and with a starting hp of 200 that would give me 340 at the flywheel. and with a general drivetrain -10% off of that would put me to 306whp.

thats just what i was thinking..... is all that just a load of crap or do those numbers have any truth??

Hey, I have this bridge for sale in Nigeria, it comes with a satellite that can beam 100 horsepowerz into your car. lmk.

The 30 hp from exhaust may be somewhat true though. The gain comes from the increase in boost that an open exhaust causes, not some magic exhaust pixie dust. This increase in boost will also cause your engine to pop if you don't compensate for it.

This makes no sense. I assume 'comp' means ECU, how do you plan on doing any tuning on the stock ECU?

Edited to figure in reality.
