New FC S5 OWNER WITH A DILEMA
I Recently purchased a 91 fc na off a kid a couple cities over this past saturday. the car looks great, paint is fresh and the body is straighttttt.. my only issue is that the car seems to run a bit rough. It starts fine but will randomly shut off, when I rev it up it hesitates to get above 2k rpm. It would appear to me(and my limited rotary knowledge) that it may either be the timing or the fuel/air mixture just isn't right. I'm planning on replacing the spark plugs and the power steering belt(since its off) today and seeing if it changes anything. Any ideas guys?
Check wiring to the TPS, MAF, coils and injectors.
Timing might account for poor running but shouldn't randomly kill the engine...that sounds more like a wiring fault.
Wouldn't hurt to replace plugs/wires and check timing anyway.

You should check the codes from the ECU first. The S5 MOP fault is a distinct possibility.

I went ahead and changed the spark plugs and for about 20 minutes it ran like a champion, i noticed after it started running the same that the spark plug wiring was corroded on the inside, i;m going to replace the wiring tomorrow and see how it goes. Hopefully that is all it is. Thanks for the advice guys, I will check the ECU as well. Thank you

errrr paper work...stupid auto correct on my cell phone. anyway changed the wires out, thing runs greattttttttt... only thing left of concern is the o2 sensor, It doesn't seem to be connected, now I used to run a 240sx without a fuel sensor and it ran fine, I know rotary is a different b*tch entirely, anyone here running without o2?
