What hose is this ??
I was checking around under the hood, when I noticed a cracked vac hose, I replaced it and decided to check others when I found this hose coming from under the manifold hanging loose.
I looked around to see where it was to go, but I could not find anywhere to hook it into.
Any thoughts on what/where this hose goes?

.psd is a photoshop file.
Unfortunately in order to get them down under the 100K limit I had to shrink them down from original.
The hose seems to come out from under the manifold, and goes down the back of the engine? To where: I have no idea?
I'l work on the pics to see if I can increase the size.
I tried to enlarge the pics try these please.

in photoshop pick save as jpeg instead of psd... and you can just go to change image size to a percentage- i go 25% and it works alright, i dont know if thats what you did but if you didnt know how to save as jpeg i figured i might add that.

Let's see, I said the following:
the hose comes from on/under the manifold, and that I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO GO....
Now if I knew where it was to go, or had an idea where why would I ask?
I have searched and have not been able to find anything out, hence the reason for my question. As far as the pics go they were to show the hose and where it is coming from...
I honestly did not think the question was that difficult, nor did I think anyone would post a question that they already knew the answer for.
It's an S4 TII

I meant to say "what the end is connected to", not "what each end is connected to". My bad.
It's not a stock hose (too long) so without knowing what it's connected to, nobody is going to know what it's for. Without lifting the manifold you'll probably just get guesses that can't be confirmed.
Can you feel it sucking when the engine is idling?

I must apologize as well, yesterday was not a good day, and I got a little short.
This morning went out looked again, yes there is a pulling of air pressure from the loose end.
I guess I have to pull the intercooler, to get a better idea, I have never pulled the IC before, but hey that's what DIY means, right.

So? Where is the end of the hose that is NOT under the intake manifold going? What is it connected to? The pictures don't show the end that is NOT under the intake manifold and if it does show it, it isn't clear in the pictures.

this is from my 10th anniversary... its a pretty bad pic, but...
are you talkin about the hose that goes to the charcoal canister?
or this other one by it that goes... uh.. somewhere else?
(edit): upon closer inspection i think youve already got the charcoal canister line hooked up there... i cant even see a vac hose in the area on mine. ????

That was/is the basis for my question: The hose was not connected on the lower end, it was dangling there.
One hose goes to the Charcoal Canister. I have no where or to what the other hose is connected to.

Well, it MIGHT be the air feed for the oil injector spider, if it's not more than about six or so inches long after it leaves the hidden area.
Start the engine. Feel the open end of the unknown hose. If there is suction, that is what it is.

It is coming FROM the spider. YOU need to connect it to the LARGE nipple on the back of the throttle body. There are FOUR metal nipples, one above the other there. The LARGE metal nipple is where the hose goes.
Lost? Ok. There is a black block b/t the throttle body and where the throttle body mates with the intake. The nipples are on the AFT side of that area. The firewall side.
IF you know the area, it's not that hard to install that hose by feel or mirror and flashlight. IF your not familiar with that area, it takes a few minutes longer.

Then again, if the hose seems too small a diameter for the LARGE metal nipple, then the hose MIGHT be coming from the primary fuel injector bleed nipple located b/t the two oil injectors.
IF that is the case, the end of the hose will go to one of the top two metal nipples and NOT the large nipple, and NEVER EVER, EVER, the bottom nipple.

There are only two places under the intake that it can come from. The oil injector spider and the fuel injector air bleed. The fuel injector air bleed nipple is SMALL and the spider hose is LARGE.
I'M SURE it's for the oil injector bleed.
I can reach around from the right side of the engine and find mine and install mine. Been there done that. Just follow the throttle cables with your hand and find the bell crank for them. Just on the other side of the bellcrank are the nipples. Feel with your fingers all four of them. I think the second from the bottom is without a hose. Install your hose there.
If you feel compelled to remove the intercooler.....make sure you disconnect the battery cables first so you don't arc b/t the intercooler and the output wire of the alternator.
