what hose is this?

car is a 1990 TII with a 88 TII engine. there is this hose that comes from the front of the turbo and connects to the engine.

now this hose looks like it wasnt long enough to reach so it is kind of "pinched" in the middle.

I had a guy look at it and he said it was a water hose.

ill try to get a pic of the hose im talking about tonight. but to those that do know what im talking about.

what is it? what size is it?

and one more thing...it has a stainless steel braided fitting on the turbo end of the hose.

Does it happen to be in this pic? http://www.rx7turbo.com/mycar/small%.../t2turbine.jpg

If it was a hose connected to the turbo and it was braided it was not stock. The normal water lines to the turbo were hard lines similar to brake lines in the engine bay, you can see one in the pic.

Also, why are you asking? Does it not fit? Is it broken?

That pic is a S5 turbo.

There are only a couple hoses on the turbo.

1 is the Coolant feed line which branches off the bottom of the water pump neck and goes to the center of the turbo facing the engine.

Then there is the Wastegate pressure line.

This goes from the actuator to the metal crescent line around the intake to the output part of the compressor housing.

In that pics the two red lines on the left are for the PCV system and the S5 Boost solenoid (stock boost controller). That is what the other red line going to the turbo is for.

I think someone cut his oil return pipe, and put a rubber hose on it and ran it to the front cover.

Well, you could always just remove it and replace it with a longer hose. If it's what I'm thinking, it's just someone cut the oil return pipe and used hose instead, it should be the pipe from under the turbo, goes to braided, then is a pipe after the braided. I'm guessing they just cut the rest of it off and put a hose over it, and did the same at the other end. Is it like a 1" diamater hose? If so, just replace it, nothing big. If it's only like a 1/8th hose or similar size, it's one of the coolant lines.

yes it's my oil return line.

I got the SS hose from my local race shop.

Checker won't have it. Only high end places.

you can also get them from Jegs and other online companies.
