There is a hole right on top of the trailing #2 spark plug. What is that thing? I screwed my water temp sender into it and left the REAL water temp sender hole opened. Now i have coolant all over the place. Thank god the low coolant buzzer saved my car rom an overheat

I *think* that it served some purpose in the S4's or possibly the '85 GSL-SE. But in the S5 they changed something and so it serves no purpose now.

Perhaps the knock sensor went in there.

Knock sensor for turbo motors - I believe the NA's don't have knock sensors stock?

Aftermarket gauge?
I don't have the stock viscous fan.
I don't have the stock thermostat installed - it's a "cored" stock thermostat with just the flange mounted.
I have a 16" electric fan with no thermostat control - I use a manual switch to turn it on when I feel it's too hot.
I do run a stock radiator.

Depending on ambient, it'll run anywhere from 160F to 240F.&nbsp I tend to flip the electric fan switch anytime it comes close to 210F.&nbsp Average temps driving around is 190F-210F; ambient is anywhere from 60F to 80F.&nbsp Ambients lower than 60F will drastically cause the temps to drop, especially at highway cruising - I've seen lows of 160F with ambient in the 30F-40F range.&nbsp With ambients in the 90F-100F in Sac and Vegas summers, the set-up will run rather hot (200F-230F) driving leisurely around town with the electric fan on full-time.&nbsp Redlining will cause the temps to hit 210F rather quickly.&nbsp My car has never seen the track, but on other FC's it's highly dependent on ambient.

FC, stock rad, MR-2 fans, Thunderhill, 100F+ ambient temps - we pegged 250F!&nbsp Dropping in a K2RD upgrade rad dropped temps down to 190F-200F under similar conditions!

FC, stock rad, MR-2 fans, Laguna Seca, 50F ambients temps - the gauge showed 210F-220F on track, but quickly cooled down to 190F on cool down laps.
