What the hell have I done?
After the debacle of fixing the coolant leak under the FI, I elected to bypass the thermowax as I really don't feel like I need it down here in Florida. So, I did.
Now, when I start the car, it won't run at all. It starts, rev's to about 1500rpm, and then just dies. Giving it gas doesn't help. I was very careful to re-attach all of the vacuum lines, wires, etc. and I don't have anything loose in there that I can see.
I expected it to be a bit harder to start cold, but it seems that I should be able to keep it going with the gas pedal until it warms up.

Sounds like a big vacuum leak to me. Sometimes the larger vacuum hoses can be overlooked like the air supply for the bac valve that runs from the air inlet duct and above upper intake manifold to bac.

It also sounds like your cold start valve is still in the picture if the engine is able to rev to 1500 rpm's on it's own. The fast idle cam is still engaged.
