what the hel!? coolant...ASAP!!

ok so i topped off my rad this mornign and started the car...it ran at good temp and the heater was working...just now i went back out and topped it off again (just filled it, working the air out) and it was idling at 1500 (normally idles below 1k) and the heater started blowing cold...so i turned the heat off and turned it back on after 30 seconds and it was hot again and then the idle climbed up to 2k and the temp started getting hot...so i shut her down...this cooling issue has been pissing me for a few days now n im trying to get to the bottom of this cuz i dont wanna go for a drive and overheat...

I would start from the begining and flush the whole system it sounds like something is blocked.Check all the coolant hoses ad feel for any blocks. The fact that your overflow bottle was full tells me the the system is building up too much preassure.

I had something similar but not as bad. Turned out I had a leak behind my waterpump. Can try looking for a leak and fixing it. When you turn your car off its supposed to suck in the coolent from the overflow. If there is a leak, it'll just suck in air instead and push stuff out when its warm until your overflow bottle is overflowed.

the thermostat is brand new from mazdatrix so it shouldnt be that...i pulled the radiator and looked inside n it looked a bit rusty (****** people not usin distilled water) so i ordered a koyo aluminum piece that should be here in a few days...im gonna backflush everything throughly and check for that leak behind the pump but it doesnt appear to be leaking anywhere...and im pretty sure its not the coolant seal cuz it doesnt smoke at all and there's no coolant in my oil
