Question what the heck is going on with my car at 5k?

basicly what i am asking is why sometimes when i down shift to third gear and stomp it its like i am hitting fuel cut at 5k? it happens randomly, only in 3rd gear, and when it is floored. these r the thinghs i have checked so far:
codes, none
secondairy injectors
grounds (even added some)
tranny fluid
engine oil
all filters, minus the fuel filter (waiting to get paid to change it)

the only real problems i found were:
air pump belt is loose (will tighten up tomorrow)
exhaust heat sheild in engine bay is loose (no i don't have a clue how would this cause it but i just though i should add it in)
water pump has a small leak (also changing within the month)

-Shawn (thanks for the help)

edit: the last time it did it, it made a knocking noise, i am assuming from the engine jurking at 5k, also, still idles fine, pulls hard (well for a vert anyway),and all other gears do not have this problem, no grinding in any gear including 3rd
