post pics/ideas how you mount your front licence plate...help

I've been pulled over 3 times now for not having my front licence plate on. I had it on when i first got it but it was not looking that great the way the owner mounted it. What are some ways to mount it up there and not have it in the grill possibly?

Just post Ideas/pics of your front plate and/or how you mounted it without the actual mazda front plate holder.

thanks,
Marshall

Mount it on a hinge just above the radiator inlet, so it can swing up with air flow, and swing back down when you stop.

If you have friends who are electronics freaks or hydraulic workers, design one that will tuck undernieth the car, then at the push of a button will slide out and raise up! Maybe this has gone too far for a licence plate! But I would do it, if I had nothing else to spend money on my car!!!

yep passanger side of the windsheild, they let you run temp plates there so I'd assume reg plates will do fine..

I keep mine under the passenger seat. If I see flashing lights, I throw the plate up in the windsheild before the cop pulls me over.
I have also seen people mount them to the passenger side sun visor. When the visor is fliped down, you can see the plate through the windshield.
Also could try using zip tie and attaching it to the grille or brake ducts somehow.
I agree with you, using a front plate with the factory bracket sucks.

mine is zip tied (aka quick fix) to the front grill. lowest part I could mount it.. needless to say it's slightly bent on the bottom but i don't care. The cop told me that i couldn't leave it like that. I told him.. sign the ticket off.. the plate is in the front of the vehicle get over it. it works good and shouldn't be disrupting to much air flow since it's off to the corner.

having it in the window doesnt work ive tried it many of a times before... it has to be on the front and you have to find a way to mount it...

Make sure that the plate is at an angle when you finally get it mounted. That way there is one less flat spot to bounce the laser of your car for speed traps.

Mine was originally on the very nose of the car, which Im guessing is factory position. The screws really ripped up the front bumper so i moved mine done by the grille. I attached the bracket to the under-carriage thing under the motor.

Ironically I had the same problem as you. Pinched 3 times until I decided to put It snug against the windshield/dashboard. Now, no problem ever since.

Different states are more or less lenient on whether you can place your liscence plate on your windshield or not. In California, you will almost always get in trouble for just having it on the windshield. I just have my plate screwed into the front bumper cuz thats how I bought it

Where do they mount the front plates in japan? They always seem to be on the (US) drivers side offset from the center?

just buy the plate holder from mazda.... or find one in a junkyard...

it's just a little metal frame that bolts under the bumper. most cars probably came with it...

I've noticed a lot of FCs in Japanese magazines that have it mounted over the right fog light duct. I never got pulled over for mine on my Rex or on my old S-10.....
