What the heck is this?

Got my car back from the paint shop and it was full of sanding dust in the engine bay. Most connectors I had bagged. This thing in the picture I had a towel over & plastic bag taped over it. When I took the bag off the towel was sopping wet. No telling how long this thing with all the connectors was wet (at paint shop for 4 months). Hope it didn't get ruined whatever it is. 90 na

The solenoid resistor pack. It is for the low impedance fuel injectors in your series four FC.

Should I worry that it was drenched with water? Connectors look sealed.

i thought that( the picture in question) was the resistors for the turbo cars that run different volts at the fuel pump depending on boost, and the resistors for low imp was built into the wiring harness.

Series
Series five don't have a solenoid resistor but do have the fuel pump resistor relay.

Is your car running properly? If so... Then no worries. Perhaps you should relocate it. (Very easy to do.)

How's it get so wet??

It got wet when they washed and/or wet sanded the car. Having a rag there kept the water in

you should be fine. check it for corrosion at the connectors but otherwise should be fine. the resistor itself is encased in ceramic so its pretty water resistant.

Thanks for the inputs. Car has the engine out right now, and yes, the rag helped keep water in when they wet sanded. The plastic bag I guess I didn't seal as well as I wanted, but I didn't expect that much water to be used.
