Don't forget to drain the tranny and rear end fluid.

Seriously. What kind of a moron would want to stop when the name of the game is to go fast?!

Also, take out everything under the bumper covers. The rebar weighs a SHITLOAD, and that styrofoam is all you ever need in case of a collision.

whats with you guys and drastic weight reductions on daily driver cars? (IE - no carpets or door panels, etc etc)

I mean I could understand if you were using it for drag or track only, but on a Daily driver? Caammmaawwwnn!

I've got no sound deadening, carpet, or a/c and my **** is a daily driver. Its not a car for everyone and idle conversation while driving is thrown right out the window like the stereo. Of course I do use the car for drag and drift, so its not like I'm not racing the car. It just takes a certain kinda person I guess to drive a car that you cant hear yourself scream inside. But if I want a/c and a quiet ride I'd just take the wife's new cavalier.

and I stopped at running bareblock. Yeah, I wanna go fast N/A, but this IS my daily driver (bumper reinforcments are staying, and I WOULD go crazy driving the 40min to and from school w/o a radio), and a lot of the listed mods just arn't worth doing (Sound deadening is just too much work to do... but... ECU Bracket??).

I have taken off the basic things that do not really affect the comfort level in my car. I need some comfort when I drive unless I had a track only car.

The best thing to do is to get an n/a car and put a t11 engine it. That way you are already lighter than a t11. Put a bonnet scoop and that way i cut out a huge chunk out of my bonnet. I got no a/c or powersteering.
Also all the break ventelation stuff is gone. To put my front mount i cut a lot of metal out. I got the stock wheels. The engine bay is so empty i can sit in it. Oh yeh i got an electric fan which is lighter than the shrud fan. I got an aftermarket computer. And an aftermarket cd player which is heaps lighter than the standard install. I dont know how much the car weighs but i bet its lighter than any t11 out there on the street.

The main reason the Turbo is heavier (apart from the extra weight of the turbo and IC) is because all of it's driveline components are much stronger to cope with the extra power. I'd say sacrificing reliability for weight isn't the best thing to do, especially for a modified car.
