What happened? a story of my 1/4 times

Ok well I went to ennis last night to run my car to get some times, well I had gone before this with my car totally stock and I ran a 16.5. Well now that I have intake and a midpipe put on, I run a 16.8! Whats the deal here? Any ideas?

More power, slower times... I'm thinking clutch slippage.

Could be a consistency problem. Are these your only runs? If so, practice and they will improve.

Also, if the air temperature is hotter the second time, this will slow it a few tenths.

No the first time with the car stock i ran 16.5's 4 times, and this last time i ran a 16.8 3 times. When you put a midpipe on isnt it necesary to wire open your ports? Cause I havent done that and i thought that was the problem, oh by the way i forgot to say im driving an 90 GTU.

Ok well I did a little searching and I know its not the ports, they are opened by the air pump,im sure you all already knew that but i dont think its clutch slippage. Im really stumped. Oh yeah, my car also seems to be having a hard time getting to red line, like it used to make it up to 7800 easily, now it seems like it struggles to make it up there. Any ideas?

My car had a similar problem...turned out the car was running nearly a 10-1 air fuel ratio. The s-afc fixed the problem. CJ

clean your throttle body. It is possible that the secondary ports are stuck and are not opening all the way.

Just the ET isn't going to give you much of an answer. You need to tell us the 60 ft time, the mph, 1/8 time, etc.

I think it might have been the heat, but i think its time again for an all around tune up. Looks like thats what ill spend my 2 days off from work doing. Ill look and see if I can find my time slips from the time that I ran the 16.5's but i dont think ill be able too. Thanks
