ya im having the same sort of problem my lights use to work before up and down i parked the car a while i think with the lights down then i took it out at night and put the lights up. After the drive i put the lights down and one motor went half way but i never noticed the next day i went to start the car but the battery was dead so i figured the motor of the light killed the battery. charge the battery and tried retractor switch the one light went down than i tried again and both lights remained the same. help

 

If the doors hang part way, the motor keeps pulling.
Pull the fuse (it's in front of the left strut tower) & position the doors manually.
You can fix the cause when you find a warm place to work on it.
Usually it's a broken plastic bushing.
