What are the Green Wires by Spare Wheel?

I'm still quite new to these cars. This is my first and I'm still just going through and fixing things such as my clock, steering wheel alignment, speakers, and maybe rear wiper if I get to it. I've seen these wires here and I'm just trying to find out what they are for.

(The picture is not great at showing them but it's the green wire that has its plastic tip wrapped in velcro. There is one on both sides of the spare tire)

From what I know all my lights work so I don't believe it's from that. I do have a rear wiper, though I can't imagine that would have anything to do with this.

Just looking to find what these two are for since I assume they aren't completely redundant.
