What wires are in front wheel well area?
Hey everyone,
Long story short, in the front passenger wheel well, right above the fender lining (black stuff, whatever its called) there are 2 separate "tubes", each with wires. My tire rubbed up and through the fender line, and the lining on one set of wires at Laguna Seca yesterday.
No major electrical system appears to have been affected adversefly, PIAA fog lights function fine. Headlights, turn signal, parking lights, all good.
I've looked through the FSM and stared at this wire, and I have no idea what it is. I can find it in the FSM body wiring diagrams, but I can never find it labelled, just see the drawing of it every time.
I'll get a pic of it when I get home, but I just figured someone might know what it is.
As I said there were 2 separate "tubes" each with wires, one has many pairs of wires in it, and this one only has one pair of wires running in it. My temporary fix was to wrap the damn thing with tape, jiggle it around til it came into the engine bay, tape the ends separate and tape them down.
I drove it home after the track day and didn't notice any problems at all.
Again, these wires are NOT in the engine bay, they were running above the lining in the wheel well. I took a look at the driver side and saw both tubes intact, so whatever wires these are, they are on both sides...
My guess is these may be for the "crash sensor" stuff that deploys airbags, but since my car has an aftermarket steering wheel (with no airbag) I can't be sure.
Any help/ideas?
Sorry for the long post.

I just had both my fornt fenders off and liners too (put feed ones on) those are definately crash sensors for the air bag on both the driver's and passenger's side. Since you already have a aftermarket steering wheel you've already been hearing the series of beeps that indicate something's wrong with your airbag system. If you still had the stock wheel then the beeps (in grops of 3 i think) would be new to you indicating something was wrong.
