The only way I can figure out this one is that your car's timing is advanced of the stock setting. But if that were the case, then you'd be detonating on 87 octane.
Consequently, I have to call baloney on your statement.
Another quick comment, its amazing how many people have accelerometers and dynamometers in stalled in their asses. The only valid way to test a power improving theory is to put it on a dyno and take a reading or take to to a 1/4 mile track.
There was another poster in another thread who stated he felt a 1 HP increase by doing something different with his car. I almost died of laughter.

I've never put anything less than 91 in my Turbo II. I would like a higher octane level, but it's the highest I can find around here. I've heard rumors of 94 somewhere, but I haven't found it yet.
