I now have a oil temp gauge I just got in and a tripple guage pod for under the cd player and now you could emagine how many wires are everywhere with the lead comming in from the sender, a negative and positive for the gauge and a negative and positive for the indiglo light on each gauge so I gues what I'm asking is, is there anyway to get some sort of like hub or something that has a positive and negative going to like a punch down or something with a bunch of other positive and negative ports on it. I think I saw someone with that on this site. THanks.

Power distribution blocks in the glove box
Grounds are shortest to chassis possible.
Wiring becomes a nightmare as I only use red for power and black for ground.
I wish I labelled them.

I have 3 gauges above my CD player and this is what I did. I stripped all the postive/light wires with enough of the wire stripped back to "twist" all of them together. I then put them into a 10 gauge (yellow) butt-connector. On the other end of the butt connector I put 10 gauge wire and ran it to positive. I figure that since all the wires for the gauges are like 18-22 gauge then running 3 together with 10 gauge coming out is fine. For negative I did the same thing and then ground it at the shifter plate. Cleaned everything up nicely.

Let me know if any of that doesn't make sense.

hum.......sounds interesting on both sides. I'm not sure what I should do. dDub that is about what I have now but still way to many wires going everywhere for me. maybe I'm doing it a differant way than what you are saying. So a power distrabution block is what I need to ask for at radio shack?

Maybe you're misunderstanding me, because the way I'm talking about there is only 1 power wire and 1 ground wire for all the gauges.

Don't have a picture right now, but one of these days I'll take the radio surround out again and snap one.

I dunno if Radio Shack has them.
Car audio shops typically carry them.
They are usually pricey!

Direct connected to the battery...
Relays are triggered depending on need.
I have three banks.
One is constant power.
Next is ignition switched.
Third is headlight triggered.

i usually start with an 8 guage wire through the firewall into the cabin next to the fuse panel then wire all my accessories to that, short ground wires near the accessory and strip the wiring then tape them up, solder if i can but usually in tight spots i just tape up the connection real good.

i haven't started with any add on accessories with the exception of an indi glow guage set and a boost guage since i have been working mainly on the engine since i got the car but soon i will add in the power supply circuit like i have in my truck. this car is going to have alot stuffed into the dash(DVD receiver, LCD motorized monitor, SAFC2, amp, guages, etc, etc, etc.) and i hope it all fits...

that is a similar setup as what i had in my elcamino, you can get them cheaper but the gold plating is a nice touch and keeps the terminals from corroding easily and keeps good connections, i haven't seen a block like that anywhere aside from online though, not even our local stereo shops, they usually just use splitters.

I never thought of doing it that way Ted. I might that route but itll be a pain to redo all the wiring. I have too many wires running all over the place and this would really clean things up.
