Brake light wont turn off
So my brake light wont turn off all of a sudden. I've tried undoing the line to the hand brake and then putting it back in, but that didn't do anything. I checked the FSM and couldn't find any symptoms about this either.
I was wondering if this could be on when something is on (like low brake fluid) or for any other reasons besides malfunctioning? I already checked the brake fluid and it's full.
Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

it is likely either the brake fluid level sensor (side of the master cyl) or the e-brake switch. run the tests in the FSM for both, you should be able to just jump the e-brake switch to ground and jumper the level sensor with a paper clip.
if there is a bunch of sludgy buildup in the master cylinder the sensor may not be reading the level correctly and think it is low, if that is the case i would suggest either replacing the master, removing the reservoir and cleaning it or removing the whole master and flushing the whole thing out completely. if the sensor tests good that is and passes the tests but still illuminates the lamp when connected with a full reservoir.

your brake pettal may need to be adjusted some times they come lose a lil and your brake lights stay on. try sticking a block under the brake so it goes up as far as it can the check and see if the lights are on if that it u need to adjust the pedal

i believe he is referring to the brake lamp on the idiot cluster but i could be wrong, if it is the actual lamps check the FSM for brake switch adjustment, they usually are adjustable and sometimes will lose their adjustment if you happen to get your foot caught under the pedal or similar pulling of the pedal.

yeah, I was going to say if it was the lights. I used to drive a blazer which my brake lights started staying on the whole time. The problem ended up being that the switch wasnt returning to its off position when i let off the pedal. After replacing the switch deal it was fine. However, if it is the lamp on the cluster, then I cant really say what that could be.

Nurse I need 1300cc's NOW
i would check the fluid as well and maybe test the sensor. cuz the handbrake sensor should be able to be turned off by grounding it . if grounding the ebrake sensor doesnt shut it off then i would look under the hood

Like I said in the original post, I already checked the brake fluid and it is full.
I meant the brake light on the warning light cluster, sorry for the confusion.
I searched the FSM for stuff on the e-brake, but couldn't find anything. I'll look again for the tests to jump it.
