Like title is saying,

I want to get rid of my stock coolant overflow tank and need some inspiration.

If you got it replaced, what kind of tank did you use?

Thanks for the input!

I recently found that some use the universal aluminum tanks...google aluminum overflow tanks and you'll find a bunch.

Well the thing is, most things i find, are catch tanks. And they are not simular to the oem system wich has a hose going to the bottom to be able to suck coolant back into the radiator.

I thought weapon R was a nice universal tank but this is also a catch tank. Possible but then with modifications.

Therefor i was wondering what others use.

modify it to do so then. easy mod would be with some brass fittings, tap it so it threads to the top of the catch can and run a hose to the bottom.

i dont have pics but a friend and I modified a vibrants one to work. its cylindrical and has multiple ports top and bottom

Uh.. Dunno about a 2 liter? I used a ~1 liter snapple bottle under the headlight, the factory overflow coolant lid snaps onto the top pretty well... Ghetto, but works...

Eddie stop trolling the FC guys!

In all seriousness...the link above is what I've seen in some nice engine bays. All sorts of the polished ones with various fittings. Search and you will find ones that do not need to be tapped if you want to go baller.

Damn that's baller!
I found one of those "rare" 86' overflow tanks that mount on the driver side shock tower, it works just fine for now.

It works now.

Tank looks nice and simple.

becaus it says "recovery tank", does that mean it can suck coolant back into the system? If so, this is intresting!

SilverFCs bottle is nice, it looks good,

With the new shrouding I made for the oil cooler I wanted to make sure as much air gets to the radiator as possible. With the Shineauto front bumper I wanted to make full use of the extra opening that it has. The stock coolant overflow blocked a portion of it.

Thanks Rob

Cool Thank you.

@rob,

i belive i didn't said anything about a radiator panel.

but now u mention it, there needs to be a hole in the panel because the tank is in the way. and for different reasons i want something smaller somewhere else. maby under the panel, maby not.

i think i made my choice with mr gaskets tank.
