OK here is the scoup.
86 n/a 5spd
currently removing omp, rats nest, cold start assist, egr
LEAVING the thermo wax and the bac valve
I have this sitting in the engine bay and for the life of me cant remember what it goes to and if I need to keep it

Today if weather permits I plan to get the block off plat over the omp, run the last fuel line, run two new vac hoses and put the mim and uim back on. possibly start the car. but I need to know if I need this..
thx in advance

It's the air bypass solenoid located on the left side of the n/a engine on a eighty six car. It works with the air bypass relay to cause a high idle during cold starting and it opens only for 17 seconds during that event.
It's not NEEDED but then again, it ain't hurting anything sitting there. It's up to you.

And that's why I put up a disclaimer about being wrong...
Isn't it on the right side though? Hmmm, I should say driver's. I always think from looking from the bumper.
