Just in case...............I agree on the JDM engine it is for the brake booster feed. I did not know that before.
On a USA engine it is for the Air Bypass Solenoid, that most people remove anyway.
But this is a helpful post. On my 87na that I put a turbo into, the brake booster feed is at the back of the throttle body and has to be routed to the old n/a hard line on the bulkhead. That was/is awkward.
So someday, I thnk I'll rout it from the air bypas nipple to the old n/a hard line on the bulkhead.
On my *real* turbo car**factory built as such), the hard line for the brake booster on the bulkhead is close to the throttle body, unline the n/a hard line. Just FYI.
Yes. YOU NEED a brake booster feed line. Even using two feet with no brake booster will cause you to end up in the bar ditch.

Very stupid comment. You defintely need the brake booster vacuum connected. The brakes were designed to be used with assistance and will be incredibly hard to use without it.
That's a bit misleading. We're talking about two completely different nipples, not one nipple serving two differnet puposes depending on the engine. They're in about the same area but they're not in the same place. Just so everyone's clear...

First I didn't mean not to attach the booster at all. You don't have to attach it at that point though. Notice that I said where the booster line is going to be located at. Yes, if he wants he can use that spot as well he can but does not have to.
Here are some pics I just took of my engine. Driven that way for 3 years with the brake booster connected towards the back of the motor. My motor is a Jspec motor as well.
Some extra info though that might be helpful is to know wether or not you swapped over the usdm parts to the Jspec motor. I swapped over alot of the parts I had from my usdm motor to the jspec motor. If you did not swap anything over then that will probably be what you have to use for you brake booster line.
