If I had to guess I would say that is a JDM engine that you swapped in.
You can cap off that connection as it isn't needed in a US rx7. The member above is correct in saying though that it was used for the brake booster on that car the motor came out of.

lol, wow didn't know you could learn anymore on these HAILERS.
My engine has the same spot that was not used when the air bypass was installed and it's just plugged after doing research on them. The US models don't have those. Not sure why the JDM ones did, guess they just wanted it in another spot. However it is a great place to hook up for extra vaccum sources.

Like the fellow said above, on a 87 TurboII, the brake booster feed line is on the back of the intake manifold next to the three or four small vacuum.
I need to stare at that picture then my engine. Maybe it's a JDM thing. But on a series four there's a nipple near the BAC that gets a hose from that nipple and goes to the Air Bypass Solenoid. I might be wrong because I've never seen a JDM.

i agree with hailers. i also think it is the to the airbypass valve and from the air bypass valve it goes to the intercooler. im not totally sure being that my car and motor are over 200 miles away or i would check. it may be to the brake booster but i think that line on the us motors are by the vacuum nipples on upper intake on the firewall side. i almost think that there may be a nipple from the bacv to the air by pass valve thats what makes me think it may be a brake booster. i guess we would have to know is it us or jdm

It is for the brake booster on a JDM. Those come on JDM engines at least on the S4 models.
Again, had it on mine when the Air Bypass was installed and it never went to anything. Capped it off and it's been that way for 3 years now. On a US car it becomes an extra vaccum source.

It's the brake booster vac line, as mentioned at the top of the thread before all you clowns got involved. And it not a "JDM" thing, it's for RIGHT HAND DRIVE engines.
The angle that photo was taken at makes it look close to where the AWS solenoid nipple is on US UIM's, but as you can see in this photo, it's not.

Close, the air bypass solenoid isnt on this manifold because the jdm doesnt have it. Look closer at the picture and you see it comes from behind the BAC rather than just above it on the uim.

It's really boring when someone posts a picture of a Right Hand JDM engine. Uggggh.
Here's a decent USA, series four, intake manifold showing the nipple that cause international conflict.
