What to do about extra-stubborn bolts?
I have an '87 TII and the motor recently took a crap on me, so I took everything off the block and now I'm ready to start pulling the motor out, except the bolts that bolt the engine to the tranny are being a real pain in the ***. The first one I tried I managed to twist the head off the bolt, but luckily I could pull it out from the other side. The bolts on the underside of the engine are not like that. I broke one of them loose, but after that, it was still really tight, and I was afraid that I was just twisting the head and not the entire bolt. Any ideas on how to get these suckers out?

I found this stuff at Wal-mart called PB Blast that is for loosening stuck and rusted bolts.Works fairly well.Get some of that or something similar and soak it overnight like 1987RX7Guy said.

Just remember to use it on the thread side. My rocket scientist son who was helping me on an engine pull ran into some stuck bolts on the belly pan. He sprayed the PB on and let it sit overnight. I was happy he though enough to do that. The next day went back at it and he proceeded to snap off 4 bolts. After some intense grilling (similar to Paul Sr. from OCC for chopper nuts), I found out that he sprayed only the heads. Just more work for dear old dad.

Wow, if I would've done that, my dad would've definately chased me around the house and beat me with a boat paddle. Like the time I stripped the threads off my bathroom faucet piping... whoops...

Now I gotta round some of my friends up so we can yank the motor out. Yippie!
