What did Mazda do between the '88 to '89 model years?
What did Mazda do between the '88 to '89 model years?
I've seen that the early FCs and the later FCs have like a 200+ lb weight difference between them. What DID Mazda do between these cars to make the later ones weigh so much more?
And another thing, as for the N/A vs Turbo differences, I know the engine, tranny, and hood are different, as well as ECU and related equipment (exhaust too?), but what all else are the differences between the N/A RX-7's and the TurboII's? Probably larger wheels/tires, rear end, brakes? (4-piston maybe? I dunno).. What all are those differences between the N/A and Turbo RX-7's also?
And don't give me crap about "use the search function" cause I looked and couldn't find much of anything useful that answered these questions.

use the search feature. =P Series 5 have a completely different motor, ecu and harness. Its OBD1. The ecu and harness have more in common with the 3rd gen then they do with the 87-88. A few updates in the interior and exterior. The suspensions are almost the same. 86-88's have a different lower a-arm with a replaceable ball joint, different sway bar end links.
Where did the 200lbs come from? Let see
Automatic Seatbelt, bigger gas tank, steel hood, jack, more sound deadening material (you get less leg room in a 89+), the dash is heavier and many othjer stupid little things

so is the 89+ cars just built better and a little heavier duty? .. or just heavier? i have a damn gay *** 88... gay gay gay gay gay gay. no turbo GTU.. and... the low hp years... doh doh doh doh doh!
