What are common problems with Fc's?

A lot of the electrical problems with 86-88 were fixed in 89-91s but not everything. 86-88 more likely to flood than the 89-91. Most if not all FCs have broken interior pieces but that is expected with a 14 yr old car.

when it floods, go under the hood and pull out the EGI fuse, then crank it for a bit (your car will not start) then go put the fuse back in, and you're good to go. i wired a switch up to it so i dont have to go under the hood to pull the fuse, i just hit the switch

The owners that think they need OHV piston engines
Just kidding...well actually no, not kidding too much... the biggest most common problem with FC's is owners that don't maintain them properly and then complain about the car always being broken, or they just sell the car and whoever buys it gets stuck fixing all the things that should have been taken care of as maintenance, but now are major problems.

The only thing that really irritates me is that damn sticky sunroof, has anyone got a good fix for it, or should I just accept it?
(no, I haven't pulled the thing apart, sort of worried I won't be able to put it back together, I don't have a garage :-( )

What does your sunroof do, slitheryImp? Mine had a problem a couple weeks ago - she's better now. I had to manually closer her.
Hmm...problems I found?
idle
clock - only has worked with correct time..... once!
passanger side window - switch doesn't work anymore.
alarm system - every now and then, it'll stop working.
Hm, that's it.. I suppose, for now... that I can think of.

Yes I would agree that electrical problems top the list of things that go wrong with the FC. I am dealing with a clutch pedal that likes to stick in the down position. Ive adjusted the pedal pressure and WD40'd it and it still sticks. Any suggestions??

All of the bolts will break or strip threads....I've done Intake manifold (2x), twin scroll actuator 87 & 88 (2x), undertray (5x), hood stand and probably some others. All a function of age, not the car, but it's irratating none the less.

Replace and bleed both and you're done.
Recommend you replace both slave and master at the same time. My problem was exactly like yours, but it was the slave that was the culprit.

I think I'll just pick a nice day and pull the thing apart, if I can't put it back together on time, I'll store it in my fathers' garage, or tape a garbage bag over the hole
