What color of Intercooler Piping?

I can't figure out what color to paint my FMIC intercooler piping. It's going to be installed on my 88 10th Anniversary engine bay. I'm repainting cause they were black but rusty. Also should I buy high temp engine paint, any tips on painting(I'm just gonna primer, then spraypaint)

Thnx Guys

I just finished painting my IC piping dark blue. I think white might have been even better (my car is white as well) but I think it will show dirt too much.

Crappy Tire sells high heat engine enamel (1200F) in various colors. I used that, along with a high heat clear coat.

Looks quite nice.

Can't show you any pics, because its not installed yet.

I wonder how hot the piping will get. Only thing that would concern me about a colored piping is scratches and discoloring due to heat and tools banging against them. A simple silver color (IE color of the piping) would be much easier to keep looking good.

I don't know how hot your engine bay gets, but 1200F enamel is designed for manifolds, so I think it can handle some IC piping.

The paint + a few layers of clearcoat work just fine from what I've seen on other cars.

I agree, 1FT2, polished is very nice, but some people want different, hence the painting.

Id do black. But thats the theme (I guess?) of my bay... Didnt want to polish the manifolds, black covered the discoloring nicely

Well, went to cdn tire after school today, bought a can of cleancoat high temp and a can of white high temp. They were out of mostly everything else. But I think i'm gonna return the white one and look elseware for a blue one(always loved blue, and I think it'll be my "theme color"). Thnx

HE said rusty. Aluminum doesnt rust. If I had steel pipes I would do silver. I think it looks less obvious than white, black or any other color. Silver I guess is more expected. Oh well just me. I have aluminum. and damn that craps expensive. $80 for 10'

Black absorbs heat, White or silver reflects heat.

it's just a foolish question to begin with. screw their color, just wrap them or coat them if you want a difference.
