What Code is this??

i have an 89 Vert. this is what flashes when i try to test for codes:

1 full flash, 1 quick flash...pause for second, then 7 quick flashes.

i originally thought it was the OMP but my oil lines are completely filled with oil soo, im ruling it out for now...

anyone know what this problem could be or how to test it so that i ont do unneccesary things to the car? help me out here.

Fred

considering your car is going into limp mode. I bet it is still the MOP. even with the wires disconnected to the MOP. it will still pump oil as it goes into fail safe too.

the only other thing would be 2 codes. 11 and 7. but the 7 would come first. and there is no code 7.... and code 11 wouldn't effect the running much.

i was thinking it either could be a code 27, or a code 10 and 17, or a code 11 and 7. but there is no such thing as code 7 i think... either way, the car goes into limp mode sooo i dont know wha to do.

Have to ask, have you already tried disconnecting your battery? Maybe it will show a different code. Not sure just trying to help. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

the flash code is not right... check it again to make sure. there is no code 7. my best guess is it's 27. which is 2 long, then 7 short. that is probably the only one that would put it into limp mode. if the ECU didn't fix it. the next thing is to swap the MOP it self. asuming you've looked at the wires and clips to make sure they look ok and are pluged in.

i swear, its freaking me out...same code over and over:

flash on-about one second
quick flash
pause about one second
quick flash 7 times
pause about one second
REPEATS...

is there a way to buy a code checker to be precise? i can throw in some 2 cycle oil into my gas tank for now, but the limp mode really sucks ***. anyone???

well i had the same code except mine did not go into limp mode i left my MOP connected in my S5 car and run premix the code is still there but no prob no more THe MOP was putting in way too much oil making it really smoking! Well i don't think that will help but! it is just to give you an idea that i had the same code! If you do find out what it was then let me know!

FREAK!!! see i knew i wasnt dreaming when i watched the codes flash from my ECU. i dont know what the hell to do...my car doesnt smoke, drink, or write bad checks! Seriously though, i would appreciate some words of wisdom from anyone who experienced this and got through it...or anyone who knows what i should do now. my car normally sits in the garage, but i dont like the fact that she is sitting sickly. i have an uneasy feeling for her. help me out people.
