still working on the idle issues. I have adjusted this screw many times now in order to get the car in driveable condition.

what is it and how do I set it to the right spot?

I am refering to the one with the white line circled

it's basically the stop screw for the throttle plates. I really don't think there's a 'proper' way to set it, I've usually try to adjust for as little opening I can yet maintain a solid idle and use the top screw (on the top of the TB) to bring it to where it should be, then I let my BAC take care of the rest.

Well, I broke the head off of it. So now after 50 or so quick throttle closes, it backs itself off and i lose idle. Then I go back and grab the tiny piece left of it sticking up and turn it with my fingernails so I can get idle again.

Anyone have a thread pitch on that guy?

you set that based off of the readout of the resistance from the TPS. Set it down to 1000 ohms and that will be where you want it to stay. Also check your TPS for blow opens or zero resistance points. Zero resistance points will set off your check engine light, but blow opens won't.

Wrong screw. Not the arrow, but the circle, look again.

Pull what is left of it out and take it to a hardware store. Find a bolt or screw with the same thread that's a half inch or so long. Thread the stop nut on to the bolt/screw first then thread the bolt/screw into the throttle body and adjust. Remember to loosen the stop nut before you try to adjust the bolt/screw.

If I had to take a WAG I'd say it's a 4mm x .70

omg I just found what was causing my idle problems thanks to that pic turns out my screw was loose about 1 turn which would cause the engine to stall after a high rev when it would come back down and not catch. Now if I could jsut get it to stop unscrewing itself.

The fsm does not address the throttle stop screw.

It's my belief that a stock engine, when fully hot, will have its primary throttle plate fully closed. When the primary plate is fully closed, it's my belief that screw should just, and I mean just, barely be touching the linkage.

It's my belief and I'm a stickin with it.

As I told you, there's not really much of a 'proper' way, at least none that I could ever find. I just try to adjust that and the top nut to get a 750 idle, then i lock it in place and i'm done.

The nut will go on the top. Same place it is currently. You can reuse the same nut. You just need a new bolt/screw.

Think of it as a coarse adjustment to setting the idle speed. The air bleed on top the throttle body would be the fine adjustment.
