I need to buy new rotors and I was wondering what everyone else had and liked or disliked and why.

 

powerstop rotors with EBC Green Stuff Pads on the GXL and Brembo Drilled rotors and EBC Green Stuff pads on the TII

 

Brembo blanks rotors are the best you can buy.
Anything other then blanks will not make you stop faster.
Waste of money if anything.

Unless you really want it.

 

I have slotted, to be honest most of my choice was because the hubs dont rust, I drive the car spirited but not like a lunatic or track the car

 

Actually NAPA blanks are the best, since they're much cheaper than Brembo's.

 

we have the brembo big rotor and caliper kit/....they are great...we even have them on the rx8 they work very good..ill check i think ebc offers rotors and good pads as well..

 

Personally I got brembos on my truck awhile back and they warped the first day and yes they were installed right.

So now i just get the cheapest rotors i can find and when they wear out i just get new ones.

 

ive had good luck with powerslots or just the napa's and i turn them if they get warped

 

turning warped rotors will just cause them to get warped again after you re-install and use them.

 

we run the brembos they work great...theres lots of different options out there...

 

yea it makes them warp easier (lil less metal on the rotor) but its not like they will warp on the 1st day or anything

 

That's what warranties are for, since they were obviously defective. I have been using the Brembo blanks on all my cars for years with very good success. As for pads, I use Hawk HPS. They are WONDERFUL. Amazing stopping power, no fade on anything you can do on the street.

 

Problem with the waranty was that i would have been out $30 for shipping. AND had to wait for a week or 2 to get the new ones. I could not live without them that long.

Plus i had already spent $150 on them, i didn't want to spend even more for something that might do the same thing again.

Now i know others have had good experiances with them, just not me.

 

That's basically what I use both on the street and on the track. Don't see ANY reason to use anything else, since I've never had a problem with them and they're so much cheaper than anything else.

 

so the general consensus is that I wont see much performance gain between NAPA replacements and the Brembo rotors?

 

Unless the place that turns them has a on vehicle lathe, this takes in account the trueness of the hub

 

Actually, you can get the brembo rotors for cheaper than the napa rotors.
NAPA's are 43.50 at NAPA, and brembos are 41 at tire rack, at least for the fronts. I didn't check the rears, but I assume it is similar.

 

i like slotted... cuz they look cooler... and i feel like im stopping faster... so power slots is the way to go, to look cool

 

The rears are 52 each on tirerack. I think for now Im going to go with just the rears from napa for $31.50 a piece and take the money i save from not buying slotted and drilled rotors and buy a new clutch.

I remember seeing NAPA fronts for 30 as well somewhere, just can't remember where right now.

 

Don't forget about shipping costs associated with ordering slightly cheaper items online, it could easily make it more expensive overall.

stock, but going to napa to get tured for $15 each! The ebay ones are looking so is the price.
