What AUX-Port setup do I have ? S4 NA - EU-Spec

Hello,

as I am about to remove the engine this weekend, I want to know what AUX Port setup I have on the S4 NA block.

I searched and found lots of answers, but I am still not sure because our European cars are a bit different.
For example we still have a thermal reactor and no precats, we also have a distributor ...
I dont know if this is a six port motor, all the pics I saw from a six port motor were mostly USDM or JDM and were quiet different.

Car is a 1986 FC NA.

Please let me know.

Steven

Edit:
BTW Air pump is removed to take these pics

The "regular" setup is a set of sliding sleeves in the irons that rotate to open and close the port.

I would assume that Mazda went with the butterflies because they could not fit the sleeve actuators on the lower intake with the huge thermal reactor in the way.

if the aux ports are a smooth transition into the engine you cant use the sleeve setup.

Go look at the TRAINING MANUAL for series four cars that can be found on this forum and you'll find pictures of the two different aux port setups.

Thanks hailers for pointing that out. I never noticed this sheme on the FSM.
Really looks like they used this design due to the thermal reactor using lots of space down there.

Anybody knows by chance how much the thermal reactor weights ? I am about to remove it.
A small voice in my head says that its too heavy for 1 person to hold it under the car.

Many thanks
Steven

You can lift it. It's pretty heavy but under 40 pounds.
