Can anyone tell me what this is I am new to this forum and to owning Rx7's It appears to be a pioneer power amplifier.
I just bought a 1991 convertible Rx7 and it has the stereo with the speakers in the head rest and the surround sound button on the dash, is this amplifier something I could purchase and easily install to upgrade my sound system

The AE system is actually a fixed eq system for the verts. There is little advantage (and possibly sound quality losses) using the AE system in a coupe because of the difference in the body harmonics between the 'vert and the coupes.

 

My TII came stock with the AE setup in it.

The only T2 that I have heard of coming with their version of the AE (slightly different than the vert version as there is no rear channel on the 'vert version) was the 10thAE T2

 

Mine had the CD player with two buttons on it. Previous owner ganked the door speakers, so I put some inserts in the door panels to cover the holes. Mine an 88 that was built in very late 88 if that matters any
