AARRGGHH!!! HELP! Oil on my F^$&*$cking clutch!!!

OK- I did the stupidest thing I have EVER done... I took the day to tie up some loose ends on my car... I fixed my front lip... welded my exhaust leak.... changes oil.. etc....
Anyways, I was doing a few things at once, and took the oil fliter off, drained my oil... and was welding my exhaust at the same time.. I put the exhaust on and started my car to make sure it wasn't leanking... DOH!!!!! I forgott to put the new oil filter on!!! A geyser of oil sprouted, and promptly covered my engine and driveway.... anyways, I cleaned it up, kicked myself in the *** a few times, , and continued working on the car.
Took a spin after, and my clutch was slipping like a condom on a midget...
It makes sense to assume that the torrent of oil leaked onto my flywheel/clutch plate through the observation plates, or something.
My question- is there anything I can do??? I can't afford a new clutch right now at all (even though this reman clutch is ****). and I really can't take the tranny out now, don't have the time.....
Damn, I can't even spin the tires in first gear!!!
Can I take the obsevation plates off the belhousing and spray degreasor or something in there? Has anyone tried anything? Is there a compound made for clutch discs?? What about brake cleaner??
I don't want to try anything without some input first......
Thanks- and happy Easter!!
Dan.

Maybe take off the observation panel and spray a shitload of carb cleaner/brake cleaner down in there as it runs, while someone work s the clutch pedal, and shield your damn eyes from the flywheel slinging it back out at you!

I wound t hold my breath though, just wear it off.

That'd be your only hope.
More than likely, you're F*cked. Oil seeps into the organic discs and contaminates them.
Sorry dude.

Oil will NOT wear off of a clutch, nor brake pads. That's why you have to make sure the surfaces are clean and grease/oil free before you put them together.

Are you sure your clutch was working ok before you started? Did you replace the tranny input shaft seal when you replaced the clutch?

Either way, you will need to replace the clutch. Assuming the pressure plate and flywheel are ok, you should be able to get by with a rebuilt disc, which shouldn't cost over about $60 usd ($90 can, right?) from a local parts store.

If you drove the car hard enough to know that you can't spin tires in 1st gear, the clutch has already soaked up enough oil to ruin it. Sorry.

I'd try turning the car on, keep it in neutral (get the input shaft spun up), and then have a helper press/release the clutch several times whilst spraying a degreaser on it.

and then HOPE LIKE HELL!

otherwise, yank the tranny, replace the disk.
clutches (just the disk) are pretty cheap, $60 or so, probably.

Ohhh... this is not good news....

I am going to try brake cleaner..... I guess there isn't anything else I can do.

This peice of **** clutch I got was a reman, and it doesn't even hold as well as the stock clutch.
It cost me over 300 bucks Canadian, my core was refurbished by a clutch and brake shop.!

Where have you seen rebuilds for that cheap??

Well, if I have to get a new clutch... what brand should I be looking at, CHEAP??!!
