What all kicks off the buzzer?

Low oil and low coolant. Anything else? I had to pull everything off the front of the engine to get to an oil leak...and I had to leave the water pump, alternator, air pump, and all the belt driven stuff off to make sure my ghetto JB Weld patch was going to hold the oil in my engine. On start up, after the car runs for a few seconds, the buzzer starts.

I'm sure it's because the water pump housing was left off and disconnected, but I wanted to make sure I knew ALL the issues that set it off. Want all the bases covered when I go back to it...this has to be my DD in a few days.

Low oil and low coolant are the two things that particular buzzer goes off for.

Okay so what if the light comes on but the buzzer doesn't. I know the buzzer works because I've heard it go off. Also the light for the seat belts comes on but no beep and at times the light doesn't come on but it beeps. I think my seven flew over the kookoo's nest. Its cheese slid of it cracker.

redlineracer....make sure all of your lights are making good contact. None of the lights on my idiot cluster worked except my seatbelt light. After pulling the cluster and moving all the light holders I was able to get all the lights to work. The contacts corrode over time.

Also the warning lights all stay on unless the car is running and the alternator is putting out voltage

yay! I got the water pump assembly back on...with all the rest of the pully-drive stuff. Oil level is in check, coolant full...buzzer still buzzes.

Pisses me off because BEFORE I took the front apart there was no buzzer so I have to assume it's my doing.

Maybe air bubbles in your coolant?

possibly...the housing isn't exactly at the bottom of the cooling system.

6800rpm also sets off the buzzer.. lol. i'm surpised no one chimed in on this. also i think i read somewere that the exhaust overheat sets of the buzzer, but i've never had one go off in 20+ rx-7s i've owned/worked on/driven.

Mine went off one time. Took the pre cat off and welded in a straight pipe, and didn't wrap it with insulation like it came stock. I was flying down a very straight and desolate country road at 6500 rpm in 4th gear and it came on for a second and went off....haven't ever heard it go off. At least I know it works.

Did you remove crankshaft (eccentric shaft) pulley? If you did and you didn't have the clutch pedal depressed there is a chance you upset the torrington bearing.

Removing the pully won't have any effect on the torrington bearing. Now, however, removing the pully boss that holds the pulley to the eccentric shaft would cause an issue with the torrington bearing. Removing the pulley boss for a water pump replacement isn't neccesary, so I doubt that is the issue.

The pulleys came off, but not the boss.

Properly burped the cooling system and it went quiet.
