what is it...?6 port or not??

hello guys
Im new to rx7s!!
Just bought a 1986 rx7 NA.
When checking under the hood, I see it already has a header (style) manifold!
No avc no airpump whats o ever...
The strange part is, I cant see any auxiliary hole, pin ,actuator or anything on the intake manifold.
The engine also has a distributor!
What engine is this....??

thanks in advance

european fcs often had dizzies because they didn't need to meet american emissions requirements. So the distro is nothing of excitement.

Now that we're on the subject, what the hell is the difference between CAS and distributer? how in the hell could one or the other meet/mismeet emission requirements? as far as I can see, they do the same thing,

CAS interfaces the ECU for advance/retart ect. Dizzy has mechanical advance/retard. ECU can take several factors account to change timing, Dizzy can take in only manny vac/pressure.

Your engine most likely still has the aux ports in it because I read that all of the FC NA engines were 6 port engines, it was the FBs that had four or six ports in the N/A (Not something I've ever personally experienced, just read about)

You should post pics from your engine bay Specially of that manifold

The reason you cant see the pins or anything, is (AGAIN, not something I've personally experienced, but have read about) you dont have ACTUATORs and SLEAVES like we do, you've got butterfly valves.

Yep they are all 6 port. If you look at this picture the arrows point to the actuators(?) that open the 6 ports. Its kinda hard to see, but this is the best picture I had.

That's a US engine... the Euro engines had a different setup for the butterfly valves. The actuators are on top of the engine for the Euro 13B's if I remember correctly.

I wonder if the butterfly valves granted more power or locked up less or something. I wonder why Mazda went with the butterfly valves there but not here :O
