What is this?

Okay I have looked in the FSM and I can't find what this is. I found a image that was close to it and cropped it. Anyway I can tell if the front cover is from a N/A or TII? As it is right now nothing is hooked up to this :o any help is greatly appreciated.

That's a TII front cover. The arrow points to the turbo oil drain flange.

okay so apparently my 90 N/A has a turbo II front cover... so does this mean a N/A waterpump housing wont work? :/ also are there any upsides or down sides to this?

Here's a picture of a TII engine:

The front cover matches yours.

Now, I hope yours is plugged up, otherwise you will have a MASSIVE oil leak.

well I went and looked and the hole is blocked (thank goodness) but now this means I have to find a TII waterpump housing is there any difference between a S4 or S5? or can I use the S5 N/A one I ordered?

You can use the NA water pump housing. The TII housing has an extra nipple, but can be used if you plug it.

Okay I have hit a dead end of sorts. I am trying to get the pump housing off but it wont clear the OMP lines. Should I remove the OMP carefully and if so can i re use its rubber gasket?

Yes and maybe. And it is safer to remove the pump, than it is the lines, they get brittle, so treat them gently.

Okay i have decided to order a new pump and housing. So its my curent understanding that either a pump for a N/A or a T2 will work np problem so I might as well get the cheaper N/A one. also since I have now taken my OMP off I should get a new gasket just in case. Is this the correct one? http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=14-6040-N350

I can't tell by the picture, but I doubt it.

NSBerkland: Yes, that looks like the correct o-ring.
