what is this??

I think it has something to do with smog idk maybe egr related? What ever it is, its in the way of my TII upper intake manifold. Can i block it off?

Are you referring to the hole or the EGR valve and hole? Sounds like your upper manifold isn't setting properly if you can't get it on because of the EGR.

ahh so it is egr, yes the egr valve sticks up to high, so when i have the intake on, part of the intake sits on the egr valve. I deleted all smog/emissions so is this thing necessary to have?

It isn't necessary, but it won't run without a good block off plate and gasket. Your EGR should sit snug against the motor and you'll have PLENTY of space between that and the upper manifold (Inches usually). I'm still going with your upper manifold isn't seated properly. Check if anything else is impacting it as you try to set it on your lower.

I forgot to mention this is a 6 port engine that im doing a turbo conversion too. here you go,
