I searched on some other threads and read about a vert top drain? is it possible this is plugged?? Again learning as I go been a proud owner for all of a week!!! lol

Re: Wet Carpet
It's probably a failure of the seal between the hard part of the top and the soft part.
Either it's not fitting properly (tightly) or the rubber gasket has a rip or hole in it that isn't apparent when the top is up.
I wouldn't put it down unless it's warm; you could tear the vinyl.

there are drains in between the top and the body in that pocket at the bottom of where the B-pillar would be in a coupe. There is a drain hose in the bottom of that pocket. Take an old speedo cable or some other flexible wire and run it through there.
I don't think that's the cause of your leak, but I have no better suggestion.

My non-convertible also has wet carpets under and behind the pasesnger's and drivers's seats. Last week I pulled up the edge of the carpet on the passenger's side and the liquid underneath was green. It was antifreeze leaking from the heater core, which - luckily for me - was caused by a loose hose clamp after I changed one of the hoses to the core. I understand that changing the core is a dashboard-out job. So pull up an edge of your carpet and check the color of the liquid. And hope that it's not green!
